RESEARCH GREEK MYTHOLOGY Objective: Compare and contrast several different versions of “Eros and Psyche” Activities • Research three traditional versions of “Eros and Psyche” in print and online • Compile story outlines for the versions • Compare these three to one another • Compare all three to the version told in Girl in the Mirror • Evaluate how these versions change the meaning of the myth CREATIVE WRITING Objective: Adapt the myth of “Eros and Psyche” to an original retelling Activities • Create a story board of a traditional version of “Eros and Psyche” or of the retelling in Girl in the Mirror • Use the story board to determine essential plot elements • Change the settings and characters to a modern and familiar location • Exchange story versions in group storytelling • Select the most successful retellings
